Individual and family health plans in Colorado.

Whether you are between jobs, self-employed, losing employer coverage, or just looking for a better option, we help you compare individual and family health plans in Colorado.

We review the plans available through Connect for Health Colorado against your doctors, prescriptions, budget, and any financial assistance you may qualify for. There is no separate fee for our help, and your plan premium is the same whether you enroll on your own or with a broker.

What to have ready

20 minutes on the phone gets you real numbers, if you have these.

  • Your ZIP code and who needs coverage
  • The doctors you want to keep, by name
  • Your prescriptions, and the dose
  • Your best guess at 2027 income. It sets what you pay each month.

Six common situations

01

Your Cigna plan is ending

Cigna stops selling individual plans in Colorado after December 31, 2026. About 41,000 people have to move, and there is no version of the plan to renew into. December 15 is the deadline for a January 1 start.

02

Self-employed or 1099

Freelancers, contractors, consultants. The premium is usually deductible on your taxes, and the income you report changes what you pay each month.

What is different for the self-employed

03

Between jobs, or just lost coverage

Losing a work plan is a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) and opens 60 days to enroll. COBRA is rarely the cheapest way through it.

04

Retired before 65

The stretch between your last day and Medicare. Income planning changes what you pay here, sometimes by a lot.

05

A change at home

Marriage, a baby, a divorce, a kid aging off your plan at 26. Each one is a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) and opens 60 days.

06

You employ people

An ICHRA lets you set a budget instead of absorbing a renewal. Employees pick their own plan and keep it if they leave.

How ICHRA works

Turning 65, or already on Medicare? We cover that side too. Medicare plans in Colorado.

Special enrollment

You might not have to wait for November

Each of these is a Qualifying Life Event (QLE), and each one opens a Special Enrollment Period (SEP): 60 days to enroll, any time of year. If one happened in the last 2 months, tell us on the call.

Lost job coverage

60 days from the day it ends. Voluntary quits count too.

Moved counties

New address, new plan menu. You need coverage before the move.

Married or divorced

Add a spouse, split a plan, or combine two into one.

Had a baby or adopted

Coverage back-dates to the birth or placement date.
For Colorado employers

ICHRA for small employers

You set a tax-free monthly amount. Employees buy their own plan and keep it if they leave. Your cost is the number you picked, not whatever the renewal says. Setup and enrollment cost the business nothing.
